1. Define why someone should subscribe

A list grows more easily when the promise is specific. Decide who the emails are for, what useful outcome they deliver and how often subscribers should expect to hear from you.

2. Create a signup path

You need a form or landing page, a clear permission statement and a destination for new subscribers. MailerLite is one option that currently includes signup forms and landing pages; compare it with other email platforms before choosing.

3. Write the welcome email

Confirm what the subscriber signed up for, deliver any promised resource and tell them what comes next.

4. Publish consistently

A smaller list that receives useful, expected email is more valuable than a large list built through vague incentives. Track signups, unsubscribes and engagement, then improve the offer and signup locations.
